Amber Alert Idaho Teens FLDS: Disappearance of Allen and Rachelle Fischer
An immediate Amber Alert was put out for two of Idaho’s teenagers, Allen Larand Fischer who is 13 and sister Rachelle Leray which at 15 is a few years older. The kids went missing from their home in Monteview, Idaho on June 22, 2025. Reports are that the siblings may have left to join up with a group that is associated with the Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) in Utah which is very bad news for their safety and well being..
Who Are the Missing Idaho Teens?
Allen and Rachelle Fischer are siblings that were last seen between the hours of 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 22 at their family’s rural property in Monteview, Jefferson County, Idaho. Allen is reported to be 5’9” at 135 pounds with sandy blond hair and blue eyes which at the time of their disappearance they were in a blue shirt and blue jeans. Rachelle is 5’5” at 135 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes which at the time of their disappearance was in a green prairie dress. Also reported that the teens were dressed in what is considered traditional FLDS style clothing at the time of the report.
Circumstances of the Idaho Teens’ Disappearance
The teens’ mother Elizabeth Roundy who at one time was a FLDS member has sole legal custody of her children. She reported them missing after she got back from a Bible study session. That evening she left the siblings at home which upon her return found them to be gone. Roundy thinks that may have left willing but under some influence or at the direction of older siblings and other FLDS members..
At first authorities thought we had it that the teens were in a gray Hyundai with Utah plates and may have been with their adult siblings. But what we found out is that the car in question did not make it to Idaho in the relevant time frame and at this point we don’t have it that they traveled at all.
Idaho Teens’ Connection to the FLDS Sect
The FLDS which is an offshoot polygamist group broke away from the main Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints over the polygamy issue. The group is run by Warren Jeffs who is in prison for life for child sexual abuse. Also known for its isolated community, rigorous religious practices and reports of forced young marriages.
Elizabeth Roundy left the FLDS a few years ago and she had a long legal battle to win full custody of her children which she did in 2021. She reports that since leaving the FLDS community has labeled her an apostate and has been telling members to stay away from her..
Grave Fears for the Safety of Missing Idaho Teens
Roundy and authorities report that the FLDS’s Allen and Rachelle may be in “grave danger” as a result of recent information which came out regarding imprisoned FLDS leader Warren Jeffs. In 2022 Jeffs put forth a decree to his followers to “consecrate and return their children to the church by any means necessary” which also included preparation for the end times. This has set off alarms that the kids may be put inside the sect’s fold or in much worse danger..
Jennifer which is the role of Public Information Officer for the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office reports that these from Jeffs which set off the Amber Alert were a large factor as they put forth information which proved a danger to the children’s safety.
Idaho Family History and Previous Disappearances
The Fischer family has a report of many of their members going missing which is tied to the FLDS. In January 2023 at age 18 Elintra Dee Fischer went missing and we have no word since. It is thought that Elintra may have had a hand in the disappearances of her brothers and sisters Allen and Rachelle which may have prompted them to leave to join the FLDS community in Utah again..
Community and Law Enforcement Response to Idaho Amber Alert
Local and federal authorities which include the FBI are reporting on the search for Allen and Rachelle. We ask that any person which may have info regarding the teens’ location to report to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office as soon as possible.
The non profit group Holding Out HELP which works with people leaving polygamous groups also is a support for families. Founder Tonia Tewell reported on the psychological grip the FLDS has on its members which in turn made Allen and Rachelle may truly think their rescue is in going back to the group.
Ongoing Investigation for Idaho Teens Missing with FLDS
As of June 27, 2025 the search for Allen and Rachelle Fischer is still on. Police reports that have come to light indicate a narrower time frame of the girls’ disappearance but at the same time it is unclear to them if the teens have left the local area or are in fact still within it. The case is active and open which we may see into the future as we wait for more info to break.
