Beyoncé Takes Home First Primetime Emmy for ‘Beyoncé Bowl’
Beyonce Knowles-Carter, a giant in the world of music, has hit a first time high by taking home her first Primetime Emmy Award. Over a 30 year run in the public eye which also saw her collect a record 35 Grammys, Beyoncé Bowl Emmy won this Emmy for her role as a costume designer in the Netflix special “Beyoncé Bowl. That special was of her live performance at the half time slot of the 2024 Christmas Day game between the Baltimore Ravens and the Houston Texans in her home town of Houston which we also got to see as the “Beyoncé Bowl”.
The award was for the great job she did in designing the stage and player costumes for this Western themed show which also saw her place in the company of talented designers Shiona Turini, Erica Rice, Molly Peters, Chelsea Staebell, and Timothy White.
A monumental victory and step toward EGOT status



This year’s Emmy is very special for Beyoncé which is of the fact that it is her first win after 10 previous attempts at the Emmys which were unsuccessful. The victory is a new page in her quest for the rare EGOT status which includes winning an Emmy, a Grammy, an Oscar, and a Tony of which she now has two out of the four main prizes with her 35 Grammys and the new Emmy.
The Emmy was given out by a panel of experts which determine the winners in technical categories without going through the traditional nomination process which is what makes this recognition very prestigious. At the high profile, very cultural halftime show which was a great success she is recognized for her excellent costume design this is a personal victory for her but also a redefinition of what live televised performance can be.
This win brings her one step closer to the exclusive EGOT status and is a sign that her creative reach is to grow in many areas of entertainment. The “Beyoncé Bowl” is a landmark in the history of live music, of streaming and of televised sports events and at it’s center is of course Beyoncé.
