EL PASO, Texas – We see the start of a new era of leadership and inspiration for Caitlyn Acevedo and Vanessa Barron which is our new Miss El Paso USA and Miss El Paso Teen USA. Which was hosted by KFOX14 Morning News anchor Salina Madrid, the crowning was the end of a long preparation and dedication. Now these two young women are getting ready to represent the Borderland at the national level, they carry the hopes and pride of their community.

The Miss El Paso USA and Miss El Paso Teen USA pageants are annual that which the El Paso area is put forward the best of it’s talent to go up against in the grand stage of national Miss USA and Miss Teen USA. But also these pageants are a step beyond the typical beauty pageant. They are stages which young women are put into the spot light to take on leadership roles, to be put forward as role models, and to advocate for positive change in their communities.

Caitlyn Acevedo’s Vision: Art, Healing, and Community Uplift

Caitlyn Acevedo the new Miss El Paso USA is on a mission to use her title as a platform for community betterment. I’ve always said that the title is the start of something, not the end, Acevedo has said. Her main goal is to put in place art programs in hospitals and schools which she believes in very much as a form of healing. Born into art which for her was a method of healing, Acevedo is dedicated to that which healed her to also heal others.

Acevedo’s background is in community service and youth empowerment. She has been a part of local art initiatives and volunteer programs which she has put great effort into which in turn shows her commitment to make a difference. She has a vision to create spaces where children may put their creativity forward and which in turn become refuges for them to find comfort in artistic pursuits.

Vanessa Barron: Teen Leader and Community Voluntee

If present generation is what sets the stage for the future, we are the tomorrow of the country.

Barron is very much a part of the community which she is dedicated to. She puts forth great effort into volunteer programs which is the core of what she does. Also she sees it as a chance to inspire young people for action which in turn makes a difference, no matter what their age or background.

The Road to the Crown: Rigorous Preparation and Training

Preparation of the pageant contestants is intense and extensive. We see months of training in public speaking, community service, personal development, and fitness.
