Charlie Kirk Delivers Grave Warning: The war is not over
Charlie Kirk, founder of the controversial Turning Point USA which he ran out of the barrel of a gun so to speak, recently went on the attack against the Republican party. On Fox News and related conservative outposts he broke news of what he sees as Trump’s great struggle still to come. AlthoughTrump biggest fight has known great success and huge defeat, Kirk puts forth that which is to come will in fact be the true test of the Trump administration’s mettle and direction.
Kirk’s is more than just campaign talk. As a key player in grassroots activity and a very influential figure among young conservatives his words carry great weight. Also he put forth that history shows which presidencies are often remembered not for what they achieved but for how they dealt with the most serious opposition which came from within and from outside of government institutions.
He put forth what is left for Trump to overcome which is internal federal resistance as well as cultural and economic challenges. As per Kirk, although we see value in the policies put in place and in the results at the ballot box which are great — the coming chapter will require an unprecedented level of determination and a which is unparallel in Trump’s past political fights.
The Supreme Court Shift: A Mixed Bag for the Trump Agenda
Kirk reported that the Supreme Court has seen a recent transformation which he put forth as a break in favor of the Trump admin’s agenda which also brought with it a test. He noted that with favorable court decisions and the addition of more conservative judges to the bench, Trump is now able to put through what would be very far reaching policies on immigration, economic reform, and international relations which were before stalled by legal challenges and bureaucracy.
Kirk reported that Trump had a great legal team which put together a brilliant strategy. We see in that strategy the issuance of executive orders which dealt with hot button issues like birthright citizenship and going after drug cartels. What we had in the past which delayed policy for years is now, according to Kirk, gone which means we are seeing a faster more decisive approach. Also the admin which is no longer tied up in the courts is to go out and fulfill what they promised to the voters.
However, what Kirk put forth is that this new setting brings with it different pressures. The public is to see results and patience from the conservative base is low. There is a chance for big action to take place, but should it not happen it will lead to disappointment and a loss of political capital, especially among the younger more skeptical conservatives who have lived through recent social changes.
Gen Z’s Role: In the 2024 Trumpp victory
Another of what stands out in Kirk’s analysis is his study of the youth vote which he puts at the forefront. He reports that Gen Z was the “decisive element” in Trump’s 2024 win in key swing states. Also in Kirk’s report Gen Z’s growth through formative events which included school closings during the pandemic, social unrest, and economic instability has produced a large scale doubt within this group toward institutional and traditional authority.
If the administration does not tackle issues like the cost of living and the issues which young people face in terms of home ownership the Republican Party risks seeing this group leave for more radical left wing options.
Homeownership and Opportunity: Trump’s success meter
Unless the Trump administration takes bold steps to put home ownership and upward mobility within the reach of the next generation no policy achievement will prevent us from losing ground. He also puts forth that basic affordability and the issue of “owning vs renting” are what will determine the party’s ability to hold and grow its base.
Kirk reports that the Republican block is at a turning point. What we see at issue for the party in 2028 and into the future are issues like skyrocketing rents, inflation, and people’s wages which are not moving up. In terms of how he frames these issues, he does so in concrete terms of what voters experience he looks at them through the lens of the man on the street, the average person. That going forward the work is not to stand on past achievements but to transform what the large number of American people experience.1.
Should the administration do that which they set out to do it may solidify a new group of conservative voters. If they fail as Kirk warns they will see the rise of what he terms “Mamdani-ism” an urban based radical left wing populism which is at present growing.
Deep State and Bureaucracy: The last bastion of Democratic Resistance
The deep state, which is the established federal bureaucracy that will slow down or null out Presidential orders, also seen is a group that will work to undermine them. Also we see that as Congress and the courts become more of a barrier to critics’ issues, that which puts out the Trump agenda will shift to the administrative branch.
If Trump’s team is to not overcome bureaucratic pushback much of what they had planned for the second term will be defeated. Elected and non elected.
In the political world victory is short lived unless we see which of the issues of the average American improve. For President Trump the coming phase will see not only the test of his political sense but also that of his administration’s do at what has proved to be very hard task of turning large scale promises into reality. 2
