In 2002 the which would be President at the time spoke very well of Epstein which was to later be convicted of sex trafficking. In that New York Magazine interview Trump put forth comments which still haunt him politically.
I have known Jeff for 15 years. He is a great guy, Trump told the pub. Also reported that he is into young women as much as I am and that there are many of them. It is a fact Jeff does very well in social settings. Also reported that he is a man who lives large.
These reports of Trump’s involvement with Jeffrey Epstein have come up time and again as the stories of Epstein’s associations with power players have grown bigger. What also is known is that the two men’s social circles in Palm Beach overlapped greatly which played a role in their connection Trump had the Mar-a-Lago estate next door to Epstein’s $2.5 million home.
According to reports from former Trump associate Sam Nunberg Donald would socialize with Epstein which he did because of the latter’s wealth. In 1992 we see them at Mar-a-Lago on camera and in the 1990’s their association is documented in photo.

2019-2020: Trump’s Response to Epstein Tragedy Changes
When in July 2019 Epstein was arrested for sex trafficking issues the President’s take on Jeffrey Epstein changed so did his distance from the subject. He broke off association with his former business partner which he didn’t have a close relationship with to begin with.
Well I knew him as everyone in Palm Beach did, Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. I we had a break up of sorts a long time ago. We haven’t spoken in 15 years. I wasn’t a fan. I was not, at that time, for a very long go, say 15 years. I wasn’t a fan of his, that I can report.
In 2004 Trump and Epstein had a breakdown in their relationship as a result of a real estate issue with the Maison de l’Amitié which was in Palm Beach. Trump outbid Epstein for the property which he purchased for $41.35 million and later sold for $95 million.
After the death of Epstein in August 2019 Trump’s comments on Jeffrey Epstein turned more into that of a conspiracy. He shared posts which put forth the theory that Bill Clinton was involved in Epstein’s death and also put out the word that the financier may have been killed not that he had suicide.
In 2000 he said that of Ghislaine Maxwell’s boyfriend which they still were trying to determine what had happened. Did it a suicide? Did he die at the hands of someone else? Also I wish her well. Note the original year is changed as 2020 may be a typo. Also note that while we can rephrase the content of what was said we have preserved the meaning and quotes as best we could.
2024 Campaign: Trump’s Statement on Jeffrey Epstein and the Release of Files
In the 2024 primary trail Trump brought up Jeffrey Epstein which saw the candidate put forth large scale promises of transparency. Also in June 2024 at a Fox News interview Trump said he would declassify the Epstein files.
Did Rachel Campos-Duffy ask if I would declassify the Epstein files? To which Trump replied, “Sure thing.”
President Trump says that he will DECLASSIFY the 9/11, JFK, and Epstein files.
In September 2024 Trump went further in his discussion of Jeffrey Epstein during an interview with Lex Fridman. When it came to the issue of the client list he said, “That’s of interest, isn’t it? Also, by the way, it will be, I would look at it, I think I would do the Epstein. No problem with it.”

In July 2025 what broke out was the most explosive chapter in the Trump on Jeffrey Epstein affair when the Justice Department put out a memo which said there was no “client list” and that Epstein died of suicide. That announcement brought out great anger from MAGA supporters which they directed at the admin’s treatment of the broken promise of file releases.
Are you still into that Jeffrey Epstein story? We have been there and done that for years. Do people still bring up this creep, this pervert? It is beyond me.

Social Media in an Uproar Over Trump and the Latest Epstein Issues
The social media reaction to Trump in regard to the Epstein issue has been out of control, also we see once supportive friends turn against him. Elon Musk which was very much a Trump supporter in the past has in fact been very critical of the President’s handling of the Epstein affair.
Seriously he brought up Epstein over and over while asking for all of us to stop talking about it. Just put out what was promised, Musk posted on X.
Time for the full story which is no secret: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein case. That is the reason they haven’t been made public.
Social media response to Trump’s role in the Epstein affair has brought out division in the MAGA movement. Influencers like Laura Loomer are pushing for the resignation of AG Pam Bondi, which other groups are calling for special counsel investigations.
On Truth Social, Trump’s own platform, his posts related to Epstein have seen pushback in large part from his audience an unprecedented reaction to the former president.
I am for full transparency, it is a very delicate issue but we should put all info out there and let the people decide.

At the Student Action Summit in Tampa conservative presenters reported wide scale frustration with Trump’s issue handling. “Trum is losing his touch” said former Florida state Rep. Anthony Sabatini. “Bad personnel are surrounding him from all sides. We need a full reset”22.
The Ongoing Division in the MAGA Movement
The Trump — Epstein issue is a unprecedented test of the President’s political base which puts into play that his past support bases in forwarding conspiracy theories which in time turned against him. As the argument plays out on social media and within conservative circles we see if Trump is able to put this damage to rest with his most dedicated supporters or if the Epstein stories will in fact cause permanent division in the MAGA movement.
With Trump’s support at an all time low and Congress’ Republican members pushing for more transparency the Epstein issue shows no sign of going away which the President tries to do via dismissal of it as a “hoax”. Also still in the political news cycle are the explosive stories and social media blow up which that which surrounded this relationship which he tried to wish away through angry Truth Social posts and name calling.
